I had missing emails in Mail and it was brought to my attention that I might find them under *get account info*, navigating to the *messages on server* tab and selecting "*Show messages: That have been removed from my Mac*".

Good news, the messages I want are here.

Bad news, Why are they here when they are email I want

The sender is in my address book. How can I get these message to display within Mail?

Thank you for your help!

This is a POP account, I assume? The function should mean that the messages were once on your Mac, in Mail, but now are not. There is a way to have your POP accounts again download everything on the server, regardless of whether it may still be on your Mac or not.

More info, please, including the provider of the account?

These is no function to do this, except the junk filter, or Rules of your making. I assume when seen on the server, there is no blue dot beside to indicate awaiting download?

What are your settings for keeping Trash? Do you have any Rules? Any Smart Mailboxes?

Are you using Snow Leopard?  If so, Quit Mail, and then in your Home folderdr's  Library, locate the Mail folder, and then at its root level the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded3 file.  Remove this file from the Mail folder.  Relaunch Mail and it will download all messages still residing on all POP servers.  If not Snow Leopard, post back.
