Q: Custom Signature

I've regularly seen "custom" signatures by some of the regulars - handwriting, bouncing smileys, moving tiger, etc - and decided I'd like to have one. So, I designed one yesterday and, as a test, added it to a post. When I checked about 20 minutes later, it had disappeared; instead, it is showing a large grey lock:

So, is it permitted to have a signature or not? Mine was my name in a fancy multi-colored font with shadow. Or is there a minimum age/points/whatever required?

EDIT: Just to be clear, I meant SU doesn't appear to scan at launch if you have it set to run only manually.

+I have a sneaking suspicion that Klaus, Barbara and Ralph are having some fun with you but I'm not sure (?). Have you seen the old movie Gaslight? I wouldn't doubt anything with those three musketeers ;-)+

Now really I'm just an innocent German girl trying to become americanized and "fit in" ..... and speaking of American - what's that saying about a kettle and black????

But, very seriously now, I, for one, am not joking - both Safari (same version as Miriam's) and Firefox display the regular blue/white on both my iMac and Macbook. Maybe you are two of the "chosen" ones (at random?) to test a new format for the upcoming revamp?

I just opened it and the first thing it did was begin scanning for new software.

But I think it is best we follow Barbara's lead and move on.

In my morning fog, I was confusing launch with startup. Sure, it has to scan on launch. Back to Barbara.

I had to work at this - as usual, was using Firefox and could not copy the link! Finally opened Safari and the same Skitch page suddenly displayed "copy" next to the various links. Checking Firefox again, it was clear: there was no "copy" option anywhere. So. it may be a Skitch -> Firefox problem, although last night, it worked (at least initially).

Barbara, do you use the AdBlock+ plug-in for Firefox? That may be a factor. Try making an Exception for Skitch.

AS I posted before - is it the view you are using, I am in Threaded View (although I doubt this)

The other option is some form of User end CSS that has been applied.

Is there a link? I couldn't find it in the User Tips Library

Also, has anyone been successful using their MobleMe Public Folder to support the image?

I am not sure where I posted it but it is not a Users Tip.

Most Likely it is in this forum but it may well be in the one other place I post.

Hi Ralph - I am using flat view, but I am also using flat view on my MBP, and it shows the color correctly, so I don't think it's that.

Keep thinking and hopefully you'll come up with something, although littleshoulders has the same problem, so it not peculiar to me

As far as I know I am not though I can't speak for Miriam We have been chosen in the past but it wasn't for test guinea pigs without our knowledge

+Barbara, do you use the AdBlock+ plug-in for Firefox? That may be a factor. Try making an Exception for Skitch+

Yes, I do, but it was working last night with Firefox; still not perfectly happy with my results, so I'll work on creations later today and try another test.

I've learned a couple of things: it appears that the image must be public in Skitch (I had it private at first and am wondering if that is what prompted the lock) and, last night, while working in Skitch, I decided to delete the one screen shot I had posted earlier (to show Miriam that it was blue) - and it disappeared from my post here (with a note "not available"). So, for anyone interested, keep that in mind.

+I don't usually follow sports but since AR is a local boy, I have to watch this one.+

Actually, I think he's originally from Portland? In any case, I have a very deep seated aversion to that part of the country (having had to live there while married), so that team automatically became part of that aversion.
