Memory isn't the issue but free storage space could be. Connect your iPad to your computer. In the iTunes window under the Summary tab look at the bottom of that window. Make sure there is sufficient storage space..
As for Safari. Tap Settings / Safari. Clear the History, Cookies, and Cache.
Restart your iPad. Hopefully that will help.
If an application freezes while typing, follow these instructions to force quit the app.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPad for a few seconds until a red slider appears, then press and hold the Home button until the application quits.

Currently Being ModeratedNov 30, 2010 9:44 PM (in response to peros)When I import a document into pages on my iPad and begin to type on it, the text does not appear for a while. I have to wait for it to catch up. Using the bluetooth keyboard seems to help a bit but it is frustrating in class to try to take notes and not be able to type notes and move on.
I have tried re-booting, quitting the application, copying the entire document to a new doc, changing the font (helps mildly).
Text appears very slowly.
Any suggestions?iPad, iOS 4, MacBook Pro, iPhone 3Gs

Currently Being ModeratedFeb 7, 2011 5:07 PM (in response to quasar18)I have the same problem with unusually slow bluetooth keyboard response only on Pages. On Feb 8 2011 I see lots of GOOGLE hits for this issue but can't find any APPLE response or acknowledgement of the problem. Does anyone know if this is the case or the status? Pages is bad enough but this makes it unusable.iPAD, iOS 4

I have a Word file on my laptop. I put it on iTunes. Then, in Pages, I click 'Copy from iTunes' and select the file. This is when the typing input is very slow on the iPad. Then I click 'Send to iTunes' as a Word doc. Then click 'Copy from iTunes' again, and select the document with most recent time stamp. Open that one in Pages and it gives me a document import warning about text background color that was never there in the first place, but the document seems to look OK and the input speed is normal! yay.iPad - 15 GB (11.3 GB free), no 3G, iOS 4
I am trying to do a Pages project at work, created on the iPad, and am running into the same thing. The cursor advances, but the type does not appear unless I click on something else. Selecting a block of text to change is also goofed up. What gives, Apple?? Please fix this bug. I am not used to crud like this on an Apple device! I have plenty of memory available.iPad 32 GB, iOS 4
