Jan 26, 2011 7:51 AM in response to Macsterguyby makj1974,Hi,
Yes this is happening to me too. Not a huge deal but annoying. I downloaded Minesweeper through the App Store. The app store recently notified me that an update is available, so I downloaded the update and it installed no problem. However, every time I open the app store the little red notification on the dock pops up and it asks me to re-install the update every time. I have tried deleting Minesweeper and cleaning off all vestiges of that app. Even so, when I restart app store, it advises of the update and I cannot remove it. I would be happy to have minesweeper gone forever, but the app store wont let it die!
Thanks in advance for your commiserations and advice!

Feb 4, 2011 1:32 PM in response to Macsterguyby advance boy,I've had the exact same problem with the Twitter app. Tried everything, including fully uninstalling, and it still says that theres an update for it. a fix for this problem would be greatly appreciated. -
Feb 5, 2011 1:15 PM in response to Macsterguyby Mark Armstrong,Having the same problem with a free app I downloaded just to try. The constant updating problem started after I tried to uninstall the app and now it won't stop. Makes me not want to open the app store because that little red one will bug me until I fix it. Apple really needs to make the app store work better than this, because right now it's just annoying. -
Feb 8, 2011 5:13 AM in response to Macsterguyby Iraneus,Same thing happened this morning with the Evernote 2.0.3 update. Exited and restarted appstore, no change (still showing the update needed).
Rebooted osx and re-ran appstore, which then cleared up the lingering notification. Note that the dock icon was not cleared until after running appstore, after the re-boot.
Ordinarily I rarely reboot, wondering if this explains why this has been eventually clearing "on its own"? -
Feb 8, 2011 7:46 AM in response to Macsterguyby beforedark,i contacted apple and even went as far as getting the engineers to take a look at the problem. They have no idea why its happening. i have done everything possible, reinstalled app world, cleared all the caches, deleted the app, and it wont go away. I think the problem might be that the app is already updated, so when you go to update it through the app store it wont recognize the update because the app has already been up to date. -
Feb 8, 2011 7:49 AM in response to Macsterguyby Macsterguy,I am sure apple will fix this in 10.6.7 and I bet it comes this week -

Feb 10, 2011 7:00 PM in response to Nicholas Motaby memnemon,Same problem here - 3 apps keeps showing as having updates available but these updates are the same level as already applied (at least twice now) - all apps run OK and at the latest updated levels. -
Feb 10, 2011 7:19 PM in response to Macsterguyby Peggy Lynn,Launching iTunes and logging into my iTunes account has fixed the red update circle that appears incorrectly on the App Store icon in the dock. I think I made a change when logged in and changed it back but I'm not sure that had anything to do with the problem going away.
However, in my case, the App Store Purchases window did not indicate I needed to update—only the red update circle on the App Store icon was confused. -
