Q: built in isight camera not lip-synching properly

Hi! I'm new to this forum and need to be treated like a 5 year old when it comes to computer issues. I have a Macbook PRO 5 and have been using my built in isight camera and imovie to tape auditions. I am having a problem with the audio and video not synching properly. There is always a slight delay in the audio after I record. I have tried restarting and resetting the PMU and have no apps running at start up. I have been manually separating the audio and making it fit, but that gets really frustrating and time consuming. Any ideas? Thanks!

Macbook Pro 5, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

    Hi Kathy,

I tested Quicktime Player this evening before I started up CIV 4.

I counted to about 20 and with later numbers added clicking my fingers in the shot as well.

Whilst I was recording I could see a noticeable delay in the window, though at this point Quicktimes does not play the sound back as well.

When I replayed the recording there was no delay that I could see.

    Hi Ralph-
Yeah, I tried recording in Quicktime as well and still had a delay. I guess I will have to add more RAM and see if that solves the problem. But I just booked an industrial off of my last taped audition, so it must not be too bad! Until I can get more RAM, I'll just keep adjusting the audio and video manually. Thanks again for all of your help, Kathy

    Hi,

My particular Early MacBook Pro has a Core 2 Processor (not the Duo) running at 2gigs

The RAM is also at 2Gb as that was the Max at the time (it was Build to Order with the larger Drive at the time)

I will check out iMovie (8 I think) over the weekend and see if that does anything different.
    (Do'h, more stuff to learn)
