I have had the problem you experienced, but after quitting and restarting the App Store my purchases showed up again, although I continue to have the (null) account update problem.
I have sent a trouble notice into Apple and will post the results when/if I get them.

Install the v10.6.6 Combo Update available here.
Restart your Mac. If you still see this message, "Sign in to (null) to update applications for that account", launch iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Click: *Reset warnings* and *Reset cache* then click OK. From the iTunes menu bar click Store / View My Account then click: Sign Out.
Launch the Mac App Store. See if that made a difference.
