G5 dual 2gig , OS 10.4.11, iOS 4.0.2, iTunes 9.2

All of a sudden (that is, not right after any sort of an upgrade to any component, it just happened) my wife cannot plug her iPhone into "her" computer. Yes, the one she began using her iPhone with. The one with her iCal, etc. I can plug it into the front port, the rear ports, or the extra USB ports I installed...whereas back in October it mounted fine, now it doesn't show up at all. doesn't sync, doesn't charge. Swapped cables, checked all the ports. Everything seems to work...except the iPhone/iTunes/computer connection.

I can plug the phone into my Intel machine...of course it doesn't sync, and tells me that it won't work without iTunes 9.2 (the Intel machine currently has iTunes 9.0.2), but it charges.

Anyone got any ideas? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Yeah I have the same problem. Worked fine but bow it doesn't mount the volume at all. Tried re-installing iTunes and it worked - just that once, but now doesn't mount again and can't be bothered to re-install iTunes every time. I could be mistaken but I "think" it started not mounting when I updated my iPhone software in December, but could be mistaken. iPhoto loads the photos, but iTumes not the song and there are songs on my iPhone I bought from iTunes that I like to listen to off my iMac when I am working, and thru' iPhone in iTunes is the only way unless I use headphones (or tinny iPhone speaker).

Am on Snow Leopard, iTunes 10, iPhone 3GS and iMac Intel Core 2 Duo if that helps
Interl Core i7 Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.3)
