Hey There I just brought a Telstra Turbo Next G Mobile Broadband USB Stick and It won't work on my MacBook I have Installed the drivers from the USB stick and I will connect for a bit then I will disconnect and an apple message will pop up saying PPP server couldn't connect.

Can any one help me get it going or change some settings to get it working ?

I've been on the phone with Telstra tech support for hours getting transferred to different people and got no where and went into the Perth city store and the tech support guy there (ALEX) got it going so I could connect and dis-connect but when I turned my laptop off and tried again at home it would pop up with the PPP server message maybe the computer didn't save the changes he made ? Can any help that has the same stick ?

    Hi Heapho,

    Welcome to Discussions.

I use a Telstra Turbo USB Modem and remember some issues like you are describing when I first starting using it too.

Firstly, lets just make sure that we have the same model, as Telstra has used the word Turbo a few times now, with different modems.

It is the White USB stick with blue sticker and on the bottom it is named Sierra Wireless USB301.
also shown on this page: http://www.sierrawireless.com/en/sitecore/content/Sierra%20Wireless/Support/Down loads/AirCard/USBModems/Telstra_TurboUSB301.aspx

If so, the same issues you are experiencing, may be what I had.

Simply speaking the Watcher program that was installed on the USB stick, was old and I had to update the program to make it work reliably. (thinking back, it may have been at the snow leopard change over, which would make sense)
To do this I went to the above mentioned page and downloaded the latest version and installed it. This new watcher is written for Telstra, so there are no issues about compatibility.
The version that is on the site now is a newer version than I use.
To compare, open your Telstra Connection Watcher and select About to see what version you are running. Mine is Software Version 1.3.3.2 Build 2354. I see that the Build on the website is now 2524, so if that's newer than the one you have, you could try it.

"REMEMBER though, to make sure we are using the same model before you download anything!"

    Hope this helps.

How long does the device stay connected?
Does this happen all the time?
What is the signal strength when this error occurs? Is the signal strength very weak when the error occurs and if so, are you able to test where there is high signal strength.

At this site, http://www.zte.com.au/telstra/ProductDownloads/MF626idownloads.htm is the latest firmware for your modem, see if you have the latest and if not you could try downloading and installing this version and see if the issues continue.

    Hope this helps.

I am now having this same problem. Did you end up solving it? Mine has installed the program but the connection manager is not letting me connect. I have tried making sure nothing is clashing like wifi connections etc but still no success!
