Again, same with me, had to give up on the email app and use gmail website instead and opening twitpics was hopeless, not any more. Biggest difference for me now is Reeder, it took 20-30 seconds to sync in 4.2, now syncs in 1 second!
Glad it seems to have been fixed for many people. Will be scared to update to any newer firmware from now on though!

No, Thank You Matthew. I remember very early in the life of this forum coming to it looking for support and possible solutions to my awful wifi performance. Your thesis that there was something embedded in the 4.2 update that was compromising wifi performance seemed emminently logical and clearly presented...IMHO. Your request that Apple address this issue in some public way also seemed more than reasonable. Why? Because if they knew there was a wifi problem in the 4.2 coding (which I believe they did), they could have said so in a way that that did not disparage the company's image. At the same time it would have saved many of us countless hours of frustration and futile effort trying to find a solution that was no where to be least not under the 4.2 umbrella. That did not happen and you got more than your share of flack for your ideas. Good on you for sticking to your guns. The 4 points you make in your recent post are well worth thinking about.

    Thanks, Mr. Luigi

P.S. If these exit poll results regarding the ability of the 4.3 update to improve wifi functionality turn out to be premature, you are still to be thanked. However, it will make me look like a moron.

Whoa just installed 4.3 and wifi is night and day compared to 4.2.1!!

Safari just flies and seems about 4X faster!

On 4.2.1 the loading bar would hang for about a second or two before the website was loaded. Now it doesn't seem to hang and just loads instantly.

Macrumours would take about 6-8 seconds to load. Now it seems to do it in 2.

There was definatley a wifi bug in 4.2.1 I don't know how anyone can contest that.

I know I mentioned safari but iCab is my main browser and that is just as fast! Happy days!

Even the transition from app to home screen is a lit smoother, very much like 3.2.2.

Actually I would think that, instead of posting like this, you would be busy providing assistance to those with 4.3 that are experiencing problems.

I patiently waited for 4.3 to fix my slow wifi and fix it did.

Can't believe Philly Phan is still here after all this time! Lol

I restored my iPad and put a fresh 4.3 install on it, but used my old restore profile to load everything back on it instead of starting with a fresh iPad. I'm wondering if in should start with a fresh iPad??

Thing is everything seems to be working fine so I dont know if I'll gain much from it?

So you deny the existence of the problem to those that are having trouble? Why are you unwilling to help them?

Philly_Phan: You have done an amazing job over the last 5 months of derailing this topic with your trolling posts. Even more amazing that the moderator(s) of this forum allow your posts on this forum while censoring dozens of others who have been seeking suport for iPad WiFi bugs.

Its pretty clear now that all your contributions to this topic and other related topics are pointless, useless and so have wasted a lot of Apple's customers time who depend on this forum for support.

My advice to you would be to turn off your computer, take a bath, go out and meet some people, take up some fact go do anything other than post to this forum.

I guess that I have the same question for you. Why aren't you helping those that have 4.3 and still have the problem? Why are you unwilling to share what you've learned?

I wanted to thank those of you who posted your problems with the 4.2 upgrade. I had similar issues with the original version of the OS on my iPad. When the update came out (IOS 4.0) all of my problems magically disappeared. So when 4,2 came out I waited to hear the user response. When I saw the huge number of Slow WiFi problems I elected to forego the upgrade. I'm glad I listened to everyone. When 4.3 came out everyone seemed to believe it fixed the 4.2 problems. So I upgraded and everything is working great. Thanks everyone your posts really helped. At least the vast majority of you. Sadly there are people like Philly Fan. I realize he is very old and perhaps frustration comes with age, but in all honesty his posts offered no help to anyone at all and tend to drive off people desperate for solutions. Perhaps he needs to get out to the Senior Center and socialize more?

yes! I have tried all different possible solution to my wifi issues after 4.2 upgrade and nothing helped! I had to put up with a slow wifi connection on iPad until today: I just upgraded to ios 4.3 and VOILÀ... the iPad is back to the way it was on day one (on ios 3.2)... and it's not just Safari, it is faster with other browsers, on the app store etc.
I am happy again, after a few months of frustration...
