Mar 10, 2011 10:35 AM in response to Manuel7270by Coldfire,There is a "HDMI Output" setting which you can change to "RGB High" instead of the default "Auto". Do this - as many have done - and it should work for you. -
Mar 10, 2011 10:36 AM in response to Manuel7270by BadMelonFarmer, did you set the HDMI setting to RGB High?
or have you left it on the defaults?
It needs to be on the RGB High -
Mar 10, 2011 10:56 AM in response to BadMelonFarmerby Manuel7270,I am sorry. My Apple tv was updating for 15 minutes but it is 4.2 (2060) version. I am sorry again.
I thought 4.3 but it isn't.

Mar 10, 2011 12:42 PM in response to Arcade99by mprefect2,Sorry Apple,
just installed the latest software update 4.3 for Apple TV 2, which was announced to solve this green screen problem with Philips TVs. I was so full of hope!
60 Seconds after reboot and browsing through the ATV menu... the screen inverted again to green :-((
Solve this immediately please!!

Mar 10, 2011 12:44 PM in response to tgibbsby mprefect2,what do you mean exactly? I do not know any settings for HDMI output. My ATV says it uses 720p, 60 Hz. I have a Philips 37pfl9604h with 4 HDMI inputs. The ATV is on HDMI input No. 3 ... anything else you like to know? -
Mar 10, 2011 12:48 PM in response to mprefect2by mprefect2,Ah, sorry, now I found it. Is it a new setting? I switched to RBG (high) and waiting... keep you informed... -

That's puzzling, since RGB High seems to work since beta testing began. Have you tried other settings, like RGB Low? -
Mar 10, 2011 11:44 PM in response to Millriverby steve_acp,The latest update 4.3 is NOT beta
It is available for everyone
It does fix the issue. In the audio video menu is a new option, HDMI.
Set this to RGB High.
I had loaded the beta, but wasnt seeing the update. I plugged the atv into my mac using a micro usb lead. Apple tv then appears as a device in itunes. If you then select restore and update, you will get the latest version. After the initial language setup, on the main menu screen, you will see MLB.TV on the internet menu, a new feature of no use to /europeans -
Mar 10, 2011 11:45 PM in response to Coldfireby flyingk,Hi Coldfire,

Mar 11, 2011 12:47 AM in response to Arcade99by Andrea Perugia,Hi, I've got the same problem with a brand new Sony Bravia.
Unfortunately, reading in internet, I've seen that this is a common problem with some Sony and Philips TVs. I cannot find any solution except bringing back the TV to the shop and change it with a Samsung one. Someone told me that maybe with the latest firmware upgrade for the Apple TV, this problem would be solved.
