Mar 14, 2011 10:07 AM in response to Jon Chappellby hagenvonhagen,Tried that, to no avail. I also tried exporting my FCP project as a QT movie first and then bringing it into Compressor, but it still won't let me hit the Submit button...
Confused...

Surely there can be something else wrong besides just the repair link, right?

Mar 17, 2011 8:26 AM in response to hagenvonhagenby Douglas Hunter,I just started having the same problem yesterday. I also ran the fix in the above reply and the problem is not fixed. I note that compressor did work yesterday, but then I had a major system problem involving hundred of system extensions that I am now getting the "system extension cannot be used" error on. I have no idea if these are related, or how to fix each problem. -

Mar 18, 2011 8:19 AM in response to hagenvonhagenby darbypsnm,We had this problem and Compressor repair didn't fix it.
We ended up reinstalling Compressor and Qmaster. We used Digital Rebellion's FCS uninstaller to just uninstall the two apps. During the partial reinstall we still had to insert all of the discs for the reinstall to be complete.
It worked but was time consuming. I would suggest saving your settings folder in Compressor and then you can just copy your settings back after the install. -
Mar 18, 2011 8:31 AM in response to darbypsnmby Studio X,If you use Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager, you can make a retrievable backup of any Compressor custom presets before you blow the whole thing away.

Mar 22, 2011 11:54 AM in response to hagenvonhagenby Douglas Hunter,Since I only have a few files left to convert, I switched over to MPEG Streamclip. Its A LOT faster than compressor and I have not yet seen any quality issues. -
Mar 22, 2011 1:38 PM in response to hagenvonhagenby 2masKProductions,I had the same problem and updated Compressor to 3.5.3 and then checked the cluster name of my computer to match that of apple qmaster.
It works just fine now.
Apple Tech support told me those steps over the phone. -
Mar 22, 2011 4:36 PM in response to 2masKProductionsby Douglas Hunter, glad it worked for you. I was already on the latest versions with the proper cluster name, so its not a universal fix. -
Apr 9, 2011 7:53 PM in response to hagenvonhagenby illDucce,I have been fighting with this topic for months and finally came to a fix with your guys' help! Thank you so much!
My fix was simple, I went into the Settings->Sharing and changed my computer name to something simple "iMac" and in my qMaster settings I made sure that the name matched in both tabs of the settings. I checked my qMaster Administrator to verify that it recognized my computer and it was now in the clusters! (My problem before was that I had a bunch of spaces and apostrophe's in my name and I guess that qmaster didn't like that)
Thank you so much for all the tips! -
May 3, 2011 2:36 PM in response to hagenvonhagenby beachhouse1,I had the same problem. Tried compressor repair, tried changing the name of my computer, tried checking clusters in Qmaster and Compressor. Nothing worked. I kept reading and found an article that said you had to have the same version of Compressor , Qmaster and Quicktime. I checked and found my Compressor was version 3.5.3 and my Qmaster was 3.5.2. I downloaded update pro app 2010-2 which had the 3.5.3 version of Qmaster. My compressor is now working great. I am a new bee so I was elated that this worked.
