Is my Magic Mouse Dead?

I've had it a couple of months only. Today it said the batteries were low and I should change them but when i put new batteries in and made sure it was on there is now no little green light and the system Bluetooth is unable to find the mouse.

What should I do now?

    Make sure your new batteries are correctly installed.

    Make sure the power switch is turned on.

    Try the batteries in another device to make sure the batteries are good.

    If there's no green light then there's no power. If you're using rechargeables, try a set of non rechargeables. There have been problems with some rechargeables having too large a positive end and they don't make a good connection. Unlike most devices, the "+" positive ends both go the same direction, up.

    I am having the same problem. Went to bed last night with a working Magic Mouse. Woke up with a non-working Magic Mouse. I removed the batteries and put them in my old Apple wireless mouse and it works fine. Perhaps my Mighty Mouse has been slain?

    I have this issue too - I replaced the batteries with new batteries, exactly the same type as before and I get nothing- no light and can't connect. Not good from a product that cost me £50.

    Anyone who could help would be great.

    My mouse has been dying for about 2 months (e.g.clapping out after 50% battery use) and has now died. Tried 2 sets of new batteries; no joy. Pity, because it was a joy to use when alive and well. Any suggestions?

    Just a "me too" I'm afraid. Magic mouse is nearly one year old. I put in a new set of Duracell alkalines (work well in a torch) and nothing - no light, not found, nowt.

    It seems dead

    I have had the same issue but with my Magic Trackpad today. I changed the batteries in a working trackpad and then nothing. No green light.

    Batteries are fine. I'm certain the connections are OK to as I was using Duracell's before and I am now too. I even put in the old batteries as they were not completely dead and nothing

    Will be booking a Genius Bar to get a replacement as it's still within warranty.

    Moral of the story: avoid these gimmicks introduced by Steve Jobs and his pals until they are well tested and tried. I am ok for now, but when the battery sinks to about 50% it will do a runner again.

    All of a sudden my magic mouse is not working. I have replaced the batteries and the green light is on, however, when I go to system preferences and click on the mouse icon I get the message "No mouse found" and to "connect a USB mouse." My track pad works fine.

    Try this. I had the same problem and called AppleCare. This is what they told me to do.
    Lost wireless mouse
    FIX- power down computer. Hold SHIFT, CONTROL, OPTION and POWER BUTTON down for 10 seconds and then release. Power on computer. Move pointer over Bluetooth icon on menu at top right. Choose “Set up Bluetooth Device”. When window opens up turn off the mouse for 2 seconds and turn back on. Mouse should show up in window. Pair mouse.
