Just curious. What is the technical reason why iPad can stream some video (like new Time Warner app) so smoothly, yet the built-in YouTube video is so ragged (stops, starts), even with buffering?
iPad, iPhone OS 3.1.3

Not really an answer to your question, but I have NO issue with the youtube app. Works great for me.

I too have experienced sub par performance from the YouTube app ... video streaming via other sources like Netflix, ABC, Vevo and Hulu apps is fine ... YouTube seems to constantly stall, lag and just overall poor performance ... while the same YouTube videos play perfectly in Safari on my iMac and Macbook Pro ....

I find that using youtube in safari works much better than the native youtube app.
