I'm working with a mix of HD and SD footage on a timeline that matches the HD footage in Final Cut Pro 6. I can drop the SD footage into it, but every time I do something with it (i.e. moving it around, etc.), I have to re-render it just so I can view it again.

Rather than upconverting the SD footage into matching HD footage and bringing it back into FCP (something that would create space issues), I was wondering if upgrading to FCP 7 would solve all my problems? That is, I'd be able to view both the HD and SD footage in the same timeline without having to render anything over and over again just to view it?
