Safari keeps playing an annoying music in the background.

I visited youtube couple hours ago and suddenly safari started playing this annoying song in portugese. I cannot stop it. Removed the software, reinstalled it, no good. reset the safari, cleaned history, cache, again no good. Firefox still works fine... Any help is highly appreciated...Thanks

I too am having some spanish song playing on safari,reset, reinstall safari,checked activity monitor.Can't see where its coming from.Can't stop it

Hi,

Launch Dashboard

from your Dock.

Might be a widget playing music.

Thanks for the response but unfortunately it is not that.I just tried... Music only plays when I use safari, not with any other programs.

I do. But regardless, even if there is just one tab, it starts playing

Same issue here started this afternoon, without any visit to YouTube. Logged out and logged back in after clearing history & cache and disabling start page.. No other programs or dashboard items running. Does not activate on any other browsers. Will play on any page in Safari.

Any luck anybody?

Hi,

Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Now open the Library folder then the Safari folder.

Move the LastSession.plist and the Downloads.plist files from the Safari folder to the Trash.

Restart your Mac.

You are the best! Thanks a lot. I cleaned all other libraries before but, stupidly enough missed the one for safari! It is interesting to see bunch of other people started having the same problem though. Should be a bug, I suppose. Regardless, I am grateful for the support. I was about to throw the **** thing out of the window...Greetings from NL.

I,m afraid it didn't help me either.It stops every time I go to a new web page and just after the page loads again ,It starts playing again

Ok update ,I had it so I took the whole file from safari's library and put in the trash and restarted.That worked but I lost all my book marks.Not to much of a biggie.But it was something in the safari library folder.

Ok trashing the whole folder works but to me that is half an answer.. *** is this music about ?! Is it in an extension ? I also had it pop out of nowhere today in both of my Macs... and would like to really understand what's up with that.. I felt invaded !!!!!!

And I hate that.
