I recently delivered a project to a client that was a simple collection of sales videos and the iDVD version looked great and was simple and fast. However, he hit me with a question I can't find an answer to: When he opens the DVD in Windows and looks at the videos in Media Guide, it shows no real information. The DVD is titled "Unknown DVD" and each video is called "Title 1" "Title 2" ect.

How can I add info about my content that will show up in #$%^! Windows Media Player?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

They need to be sure thy have the latest version.

You might also want to suggest they use the VLC Media Player at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Does the DVD play correctly in your set top DVD player?

If you need 2000 of them, you probably should have them stamped and not put on writable media. Do you have a duplicator/replicator you have worked with?

I'm thinking about the Project>Project Info window where you have to go to make sure the DVD is title correctly.

Yes, you want to name it there, otherwise it should show something like 'My iDVD Project'.

BTW, most of the DVDs I burn are played in Windows machines and I've never had a complaint!

But there is a new Sheriff in town, and if he wants titles to show up in WMP, then I guess I need to figure out how to do that.

You need to try and find out what Windows Media Player version he is using. The playability issue with the Windows Media Player comes up from time to time and it seems to me its been a player version issue.

BTW, you have a very nice website. I worked for the Professional Photography Division of Kodak for many years - just as digital imaging was starting - and its fun to see how digital imaging is working.

Did you use + or - media?

I am now shooting with a Nikon D3x

It's a far cry from the Nikon F3 we modified to be the original Kodak Digital Camera I helped develop.
