Q: Running a LW 16/600 in Mac OS 10.4.11

This is a follow up to my question:
Custom communications settings for an Apple LaserWriter
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2613578&tstart=0

The goal here is to turn 'ON' FinePrint and PhotoGrade resolution using Apple Printer Utility-PPC.

So, with the custom communication button DOWN in Standard position
I then set it all up in Classic using Apple Printer Utility-PPC
Then I restart with the button UP in Custom position

But, when I go to PRINT the settings show up as OFF in the summary section.
Can this be done ?
Do I have to somehow print thru Classic ?
Thanks,
Shamus

I don't think you want to change the button at all. Once you change the settings with Apple Printer Utility, it should remember them forever. These settings will be the Printer defaults.

But, when I go to PRINT the settings show up as OFF in the summary section.

If you mean in the Print dialog, then just change these settings to the way you want to see them in the Print Dialog, and Save As Default. What you specify here should override the printer defaults.

I was getting all that button stuff from the Set Up Manual for the LW 16/600, starting on page 65.

    Take a look, it's ridiculous.

    But, your right, absolutely.
    I never saw this before.

In the Print Dialog you can
    look at Printer Features, change
the settings and save it as a new Preset.

    OK
    Thanks,
