Hi everyone,

This problem has occured consistently over the last couple of days. If, when visiting a website i use the numerical keypad to enter information, the website freezes and i am unable to click on anything on screen (including Dock) using my Apple wireless mouse. I have to force quit Safari and then everthing works fine again. I understand this could be because i need to activate the number lock, but where is the number lock key? Any help would be apprieciated. Thanks

You probably have "Mouse Keys" turned on, which allows you to move the mouse using the numeric keypad. Go to the "Univeral Access" panel in System Preferences. Click on "Mouse" tab. Make sure "Mouse Keys" radio button is off. The "Mouse Keys" feature can get inadvertently turned on when pressing "option" key five times in a row (it will make a nice clicking sound when you do, but you maybe didn't notice it). Uncheck the "option" key preference too, if you never need to turn on "Mouse Keys" without going to System Preferences. Being able to turn on "Mouse Keys" from keyboard may be useful if you have a mouse that flakes out, because then using the keyboard you can do anything the mouse can (click on things, drag them, etc).
