Apr 11, 2011 5:44 AM in response to Oblideeby gwanny32,I had this problem. Opened iTunes and clicked on Store on top left of screen. From the drop down clicked Authorise this computer and followed instructions. Worked for me and not a problem since. Try it out and good luck. -
Apr 16, 2011 8:15 PM in response to onestepawayby scherbert,Thank you so much, onestepaway! Why an individual had to respond, and not Apple, I don't know, but that's another issue.

Apr 16, 2011 8:17 PM in response to scherbertby Diane Wordsmith,An individual responded because that is how this forum works. While Apple employees may read and participate on these boards, this is actually a user-to-user forum where we all come to help each other.

Apr 17, 2011 6:02 AM in response to Diane Wordsmithby scherbert,OK, well, I suppose one person's populist community is another's crappy customer service. Apple has notoriously bad customer service and per usual, it took way too long for me to find a solution to this problem.

Apr 29, 2011 3:04 PM in response to Oblideeby rebecca_harnum,Glad I found this thread. Only problem is, I can't get to the 'Store' tab on the top because the 'Accessing iTunes Store' message starts immediately. I've updated the newest version of iTunes...this is ridiculously frustrating! I'm trying to sync my new iPhone...
Any other suggestions?

Apr 30, 2011 3:17 AM in response to rebecca_harnumby V Bui,Hmm very odd, usually the message goes away after a few seconds, sometimes it takes a minute. Try leaving it until it goes away and you are able to use iTunes. If that doesn't work for you my only suggestion is to download the latest version of iTunes through the Apple website and reinstall it. Hope that helps.

May 29, 2011 12:10 PM in response to Oblideeby Jeeprassic2,I've been plagued with this message for way too long. I tried other solutions with no effect. I finally went to 'Parental Control" and "Disable" then checked Ping and then iTunes Store. Now I no longer get those annoying "accessing iTunes store" messages every few seconds. Hope Apple will fix the problem. This issue happened back in 2002 also. They finally fixed it back then but it has raised it's ugly head again.

May 31, 2011 8:51 PM in response to Xtreme squeesieby Peter97,None of this is working for me. I am running the latest version of iTunes (10.2.2.14) on Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. No matter what I do I am still getting the "Accessing iTunes Store" message forever. I've tried deauthorizing the computer and then reauthorizing it. I've tried deleting my iTunesprefs file. I've checked to see if iTunes Store was disabled in Parental Controls (it's not), I've tried disabling Ping. NOTHING WORKS! Someone please help.

Jun 5, 2011 9:37 PM in response to Peter97by franpanxop,Hey! I got the answer for people who use Windows 7 / Vista... All you have to do is:
- Run iTunes as Administrator
- When it starts, deauthorize the computer
- Then, reauthorize it
- Close iTunes
- Finally when you start it again, the message doesn't show up
Hope it helps Peter97 and more people with Windows...
