Yo no lo hubiera escrito mejor. Me pasa exactamente lo mismo y supongo que a muchos otros cientos de miles de personas. Si encuentras una solución, por favor posteala acá.
I would not have written it better. It happens exactly the same to me and I assume that many hundreds of thousands of people. If you find a solution, please post it here.

Has anyone found a solution or workaround to this short of using the windows versions of office in Parallels? Just switched back to mac after a couple of years of working intensively with PCs and the alt key ribbon interface in MS Word/Excel is absolutely essential to my workflow.

If you have reached this page because you are struggling with Mac Excel after spending years with Windows Excel, the solution to many of your problems can be found here:
You will have to get used to some new keyboard shortcuts, but otherwise you get most of your old tricks.

I've had the same problem, and when I took my Mac to business school where so much of the work was in Excel, I hit my tolerance limit. My solution was to create a product that puts Mac Excel shortcuts right on the keyboard. It's a super thin silicone keyboard cover that I call the Excel Skin. I shared it with students at school and it's been a hit. Check it out at www.ExcelSkin.com. I've love some feedback!
