We have published a podcast on iTunes Store, and on Feb 14th we received an email telling us the podcast was successfully added and that it was under review.

So far, we didn't get any feedback and we can't find the podcast on iTunes.
The podcast feed is the following:

Could you please help?
We have been in touch with the iTunes customer care (TrackID: 13789555 - Follow-up: 141584302), the legal office, but no one was able to explain us what is going on and why the podcast is not on yet.

Many thanks,
Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Have you tried resubmitting after verifying the file is absolutely valid and follows the recommended structure, format, etc?

A podcast will never show up if it is slightly out of kilter with the standards.

Go over your code with a fine tooth comb. Then perhaps try resubmitting.

I was able to subscribe to the podcast you linked above thru iTunes by selecting "subscribe to podcast..." from the Advanced menu but a search for Swide Magazine in iTunes store gave 0 results.

I can also recall in my podcast days that if you edit the file, and resubmit, you need to update the timestamps for expiration (or something along those lines) so that it gets re-read/processed by iTunes when submitted. If the stamp does not change, the store will not pick it up. Something like that. I was learning how to write the podcast RSS and had to go thru several attempts before i got it done. The little bit about the stamp got me for a bit.

Your feed is OK (the previous poster's suggestions are not relevant in this particular case), but there is a problem with your media files - I only checked one but I would assume the others are the same.

If you click on this link you will find that it downloads in Safari, or in FireFox asks if you want to download it (and also describes it as a 'protected video file').

The URL for a media file must lead directly to the file, and it should play in a browser if you enter the URL there. The downloading normally occurs because the server is not set up to serve that type of file, and so offers it as a download.

While this works in the iTunes application when subscribing (since the file is downloaded anyway) - and indeed your podcast can be subscribed to - it usually doesn't work in the Store, which needs to be able to play the file directly. This problem will almost certainly prevent the podcast being accepted. You will need to take this up with the people running your server.

The feed appears to be OK, and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes (from the 'Advanced' menu). I'm afraid there's no way of knowing what's going on with the submission process. Did you not get an email saying the submission had been received? If you did it's just a question of waiting, I'm afraid. If you didn't, I should try submitting it again. You may get an error message telling you it's already been submitted, in which case you would need to make a small change to the title (you can always change it back once it's up in the Store).

    Hi Roger,

I'm Andrea and I work with Aurélie on this activity.

On thursday we tried to submit the feed again but with no results. We didn't get any email about the submission, what can we do now?

In attach you can find screenshot about our last attempt.

We really need to break the deadlock, hope you can help us.

    Thanks a lot

I'm afraid my Italian isn't up to working out what those screenshots mean. Normally you would get an email to the address registered with iTunes when you submit (unless they've changed the process to give you an online response), and then when - eventually - the podcast is acccepted you would get another email telling you so and giving you the URL of the iTunes Store.

I'm afraid I can't tell you anything more than that - I have no way of knowing what's going on within the iTunes Store. It's possible that you are just stuck in a queue and that your podcast will be accepted eventually.

so could you suggest me what else can I do?

Is there a direct support mail in cases like these?

You could try iTunes Support - they often aren't as helpful as one would wish but it may be worth trying. Go to - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'. You will see a link to either 'Express Lane', which will guide you eventually to some contact options, or you may see a link to email them.

Yes, that's the one. It can take quite a time for podcasts to be accepted - they're probably snowed under.
