Is this an improvement?  The new design is visually consistent with the rest of Apple's website, but it is counterintuitive and difficult to navigate.  The layout may be great for selling products, but not for easily finding information regarding user issues.  It gives me a headache!

I had the same reaction when I first started using the site. It is a huge departure from Discussions but over time I am learning my way around.

I think what has been helpful for me has been setting up specific widgets in Your View. It is a bit daunting to begin with, but give it some time and an open mind. I now have a dashboard where I can see all I need to see.

Its gonna take some time, but I'm gonna be patient.

I'm not a fan either.  It does not seem to be very user friendly, navigation is too convoluted and too involved.  Simple things like finding "my posts" to check back on a thread you posted to require too much effort (it used to be just a single mouse click away).  Simply navigating through everything is overly complex and takes too long.  The first thing I had to do was disable all the email notifications as I sure don't want fifty dozen emails a day from this site.

I understand that adding new functionality often does indeed involve adding complexity, but in this case I see virtually no gain for a lot of pain.

Agreed 100%.  It wasn't broke, so don't fix it.

Some things are definitley lacking in the big picture.

    Not seeing who posted

Not seeing who the last post was from

Not seeing easily which topics in the list you are watching

Once the thread is open,  seeing the times of the posting is more helpful then the current time

I'd add not seeing the posters location (at least just their country).  That is often useful to know when someone asks a less than specific question, the answer to which will vary from country to country.

I didn't know there was a "my posts" under the old system. I logged on to this new design yesterday, spent some time setting up my profile, then clicked on "Your View", not knowing what I'd see. I noticed the "Your Content" right away, which contains my recent posts.

I only post once a month or so, so maybe your situation of checking back on threads that I've posted on doesn't apply to me.

I used to view checking the "my posts" icon upon login as a courtesy.  Often when you reply to someone, they have a followup question, or something wasn't clear, or they needed to post back with more info, ...., any number of reasons for a reply since my last post.  And since often I may only get to check here once a day or once every several days, and the replies may take a day or two to show up, it was a quick way to see if there'd been a resolution to the post, or someone still was seeking help.  That way, I could pick up on the post if some further clarification or alternate solution was needed, or learn something myself if I'd been unable to offer a solution and someone else had done so (as so very often happens).

Any given post can quickly get buried unders dozens or hundreds of more recent ones, and folks need a way to quickly and efficiently get back to a thread that might be days old.

    Amen to that!

Not so sure the form is an improvement or the old form either. Yet to measure the functionality. LucidaGrande as text font (if that's it) is like a Bold weight of say helvetica. Close line spacing too. Not sure I need the talk bubble imagery on every post.

    Discussions was pretty good IMO.
