I assume that the email account in each contact had the same lable (ie home or work etc).
Since Snow Leopard, Merge Selected Cards has been broken in this way. When items in merged cards have the same label one is retained and the others are silently discarded. Prior to Snow Leopard, the overlapping items were stuffed into the note field.
Does apple know about this bug?

I recently messed up my Address book when I said yes to a "request" (offer?) to synch my address book contacts with my Google contacts and my Yahoo contacts and my AOL contacts.
Truth be told, I only use address book, but I thought this would be a way to have all of my Address Book contact cards synched with these other 3 "just in case". And as far as I knew, my contacts on these 3 platforms were just duplicates (exports) from my Address book at various times, so I thought the synching would be one way - from my address book (the most complete source) back to Google, ahoo and AOL.
Well I ended up with duplicate and triplicate entries for the majority of cards in my address book.
And when I click on all three idenitcally named cards and ask address book to merge them here's what I get.
"The cards could not be merged because they came from different accounts."
What's with that?
How can 3 cards now in my address book (which only has 2 accounts - my Mac and iCloud) be from 3 different accounts that can't merge if all 3 have the same name?
