Q: Wireless Keyboard/iPod Touch Pairing Problem...

I cannot "discover" my Wireless Apple (2009) keyboard on my iPod Touch (32G).  They simply do not show up under the Devices section in my iPod Touch.  I have unpaired them from my MacBook Pro and retraced all steps.  I have read that it is possible, but I am not sure what I am missing.  Please, any suggestions?

Per the following article it should work.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4112

Are yu follwing the instructions in the Users Guide?  Here they are:

Pair an Apple Wireless Keyboard with iPod touch:

1 In Settings, choose General > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on.

2 Press the power button on the Apple Wireless Keyboard to turn it on.

3 On iPod touch, select the keyboard listed under Devices.

4 Type the passkey on the keyboard as instructed, then press Return.

Note:  You can pair only one Apple Wireless Keyboard with iPod touch at a time. To pair

a different keyboard, you must first unpair the current one.

    - Do you have any other BT devices like headphones to try?

    - Is the light on the keyboard flashing when you try to pair?

Thanks....yes, I have followed the instructions to the "T".  I have a wireless keyboard and wireless trackpad, brand new from Apple, so they are the most recent.  I am not trying to pair the trackpad, but turned it off anyway.  I had it paired to my MacBook Pro, but after reading a bit online, removed it completely...it is currently not paired with anything.  My biggest hurdle right now is the fact that the iPod Touch will not "discover" the wireless keypad.  I paired it with a pair of headphones yesterday with no issue, and have removed it since...so, there is nothing currently paired to the iPod Touch.  It is a 32G device, so it is a 3rd Generation.  The only thing left to do is update the iPod Touch OS from 4.2.1 to 4.3....it says it is up to date at 4.2.1...still trying to figure out why it will not update to the latest OS.  I will retrace my steps from the beginning again.  Let me know if I have missed anything or if there is something else to consider.  Thanks Illaass!

It sounds like you have a 2G ipod since that can only update to 4.2.1.  You profile said in your first post:"iPod touch, iOS 4.3.2" so I assumed that it was right.  The 2G can't pair with a keyboard.  See the following:

Well, this whole time I thought I had a 32G 3rd Generation iPod Touch.  I believe you are right.  The date on the back is 2008.  Thanks for helping me through this.
