Hi there. I have a brand new MacBook Pro 2011 and I'm having some problems with my wireless connection. I have in the same room a Mac Mini, my Ipad , my Ipod, 3 PC's and all of them have a wireless connection. I notice that since my last MacOSX update I have some problems with my wireless connectivity in my Macmini. Now I'm having the same problem in my macbook pro. I have internet in all my other devices but no internet in my Mac Mini or Macbook. The Access point is 5 meters away from my devices. I put some repeater in the middle to repeat the signal but I'm getting the same beavior. Can someone help me on this? If I go to the network setting and renew my DHCP address I can access the internet but after 15 minutes I'm getting the same problem again.

Did some updates today. Let's hope that I have the problem Solved. I called the Service Support line and they told that they don't know nothing about this problem. I don't know why because I'm following a lot of guys with the same problem. Now they told me that I can return my laptop and have my money back. I don't want my money back, I want this computer that I've been waiting for 2 months...

If problems persist again, and as you say they impacted the Mac Mini too, it sounds like the router is at issue, and might need a firmware update, or to be replaced by one know to work to the latest free update you have.  Unfortunately just because something says it is 10.6 compatible does not mean it is 10.6.7 compatible.

    Hi there,

I have the same problem in diferent Routers. Yesterday I was in the University Campus with a 802.1x connection and I have the same problem. Sometimes i need to disable my airport and enable again to have access. There was a guy next to me with a 2007 MBP with the maximum signal on Wifi and always working. I  called Apple in Portugal this morning and they told me that they give my money back, but I don't want that, I waited 2 months for my laptop and I want this one, not another one. Did someone have a solution to this problem?

The signal bar on the menubar is not always an accurate indicator of how strong the signal is.  A more accurate measure is if the signal drops entirely and you are definitely in range of the airport base station.  Also anywhere within 3 meters you may get signal degradation because of overlapping radio waves cancelling each other out.  You also have the option to ask to speak to a customer relations person when you call AppleCare, and ask for an expedited repair, and have your airport card properly seated.  Sometimes they can get loose, or the antenna can get loose inside, though normally this isn't a problem unless the machine has to be opened for some reason.

    Hi There,

I agree with your options but it's very strange that you can find on the web several complains about this problem. Do you really think that they have 1.xxx Laptops with the Airport card loose? I don't think so. I'm a system administrator and I know what's the rules and measures that you should consider for Wireless. This is a problem or with some drivers or software or with this specific part. I almost sure about that. Just want Apple confirmation and fix.

Remember the numbers given by the forum include repeat returns.  So I don't think it is as great as the thread suggests.  There no individual user count on the forums except for the entire forum, or category, but not thread.

I'm talking about "forums" in general no just Apple Forum. If you google a simple sentence "MBP 2011 Wireless Problem" you can see the result.
