Apr 30, 2011 10:16 PM in response to Prvt. Donutby old comm guy,What brand mouse? If it is a Logitech, you should have Logitech Control Center installed as a Preference pane in System Preferences, which also loads a couple of kext files. Other brands might need specific drivers loaded for full functionality or "good behavior" of the device.
I've had mostly good luck with mice over the years, with a couple of disastrous exceptions, like the wireless mouse that started causing kernel panics on my laptop as it was quickly keeling over. That was fun.
