I have just purchased a 16GB WiFi only iPad 2. The icon for the WiFi keeps constantly drops and gains one bar. With my iPad one I never had this problem. Faulty?

Having the same issue.  I've had to get off and on multiple times before it worked.  It's a pain.  Same thing on three different wireless networks now.

Did you transfer the backup for your original iPad to your new iPad?

Try selecting the network to view the network settings followed by selecting Forget this Network. This will require re-joining the network.

If no change, go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings. This will erase all wi-fi network settings from your iPad and require re-joining every wi-fi network you have access to when returning within range of such a network.

If no change after this and you transferred the backup for your previous iPad to your new iPad, try restoring your new iPad with iTunes as a new iPad or not from the iPad's backup.

If no change after this, more than likely it is faulty.

How does it behave on other wireless networks?

Does it constantly drop the connection with them as well?
