I have a virus -- **** sites keep popping up in the middle of what I'm doing. How do I get rid of this virus?

This morning my MacPro had a **** site on it. aghh. And now, in the middle of doing anything on my Mac, **** pops up.

It is just as likely you have a bad Domain Name Server DNS reference.

System preferences > Network > <your main interface> ...

...and check the stuff under DNS carefully. They should be EXACTLY what your ISP gave you, or remove the ones they gave you and use Open DNS:

208.67.222.222 and

208.67.220.220

... AND NO Stray references!
