May 4, 2011 7:41 AM in response to ats01aby wjosten,Honestly? If you can return the phone & get your money back, that's what you should do. The terms of use of this forum do not permit posting instructions on how to attempt to fix this mess. You're gonna have to use Google and hope for the best. Good luck.
I should add, that depending on how this phone was jailbroken, you may NEVER be able to restore a stock iPhone firmware to it.

May 4, 2011 7:44 AM in response to ats01aby modular747,You can try DFU mode recovery, but it may not work. Many jailbroken phones get permanently bricked.
1. Update to latest iTunes and start.
2. Connect phone to a USB port on the computer itself
3. Press both home and sleep/wake buttons for exactly 10 seconds, then continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes sees the phone in Recovery Mode..
4. Follow the prompts to restore as new.

May 4, 2011 7:57 AM in response to modular747by wjosten,That will definitely NOT WORK with an error 1015.

May 4, 2011 11:10 AM in response to wjostenby modular747,Definitely not?? How do you know that?
If not, why does Apple say this:
"Error 1015: This error is caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple."

May 4, 2011 11:12 AM in response to modular747by wjosten,Notice the word "attempt" in that statement...
-
May 4, 2011 11:25 AM in response to wjostenby modular747,Indeed I did. The question remains - why would Apple recommend "attempting" something if it "will definitely NOT WORK", as you said?
If you read my original post, I stated it MAY not work...

May 30, 2011 1:35 AM in response to ats01aby 1337Selcuk,Go into dfu, restore your phone from itunes and then after the process is complete go into recboot and hit: exit dfu mode. And it's simple as that. I had that problem many times. All errors can't beat that one.
