hp officejet 4315 driver for MacBook air

I cannot download drivers for this printer. I thought Snow Leopard was supposed to have these drivers already.

Hi Darach,

According to these two articles the drivers are included with Snow Leopard's default installation.

Did you at any point in time reinstall your operating system and choose not to install the printer drivers package? Also, have you run Software Update recently to see if there's been a new HP Software update contained within?

Jason,

I originally had the printer working on a Mac Mini, but reconnected it to my Airport Extreme, and when I tried to install it there through the System Preferences option it went to Apple looking for software, and didn't find it. I have now plugged it directly into the MacBook Air via USB and again it goes looking for software and doesn't find it

I am using a MacBook Air 11" 1.6Gb with 4Gb RAM and OSX 10.6.7.

My internet connection is very slow in this location. (0.2 MB)

Hi Darach,

You should be able to use the Installation Disc that came with your computer to reinstall the bundled printer drivers. It'd be under "Optional Installs" once it mounts. Unless you have an external SuperDrive for the MBA you'd need to use CD/DVD sharing from another machine but it sounds like you have access to a Mac Mini.
