May 15, 2011 12:45 AM in response to alexchoiby Andy Mees,In the VO Tool window make sure you change both "Source" and "Input" selections to the Duet.
If that still doesn't work then try closing and reopening the VO Tool.
If that doesn't work then try closing and reopening FCP.

May 15, 2011 2:45 AM in response to alexchoiby Andy Mees,I see.
I'd suggest you switch the physical mic input you are using on he Duet to Input 1 (not Input 2) ... or use the Duet Mixer controls to pan the output Channel 1.

May 17, 2011 9:28 PM in response to Andy Meesby alexchoi,Thanks Andy.
I already tried but it's the same result.
It seems to me that there is not still any resolution for connecting via FireWire in final cut pro.

May 17, 2011 9:47 PM in response to alexchoiby Andy Mees,Very odd. I haven't used the Duet myself but there are plenty of user reports which suggest that the device works just fine with the VO Tool in FCP (but only with Mic Input 1 as I advised above). There are many other FireWire based Mic interfaces that also work just fine, so it's certainly not a FireWire thing. I can only suggest that, having plugged the Mic into Input 1 you recheck all your settings, on/off switches etc and make sure all is absolutely as it should be.
Another option for you would be to set up an Audio Only capture preset, and record your voice using Log and Capture:
Go to your FCP Audio/Video Settings... window (Cmd - Opt - Q) and switch to the Capture Presets tab
Select any capture preset and press the Duplicate button.
In the subsequent Capture Preset Editor window:
Set the Name and Description to Apogee Duet - Audio Only
Set the Quicktime Video Settings >> Digitizer to None
Set the Quicktime Audio Settings >> Device to Duet, Format to 48 kHz
and then press OK
Now open your Log and Capture window and switch to the Capture Settings tab
From the Device Control popup select Non-Controllable Device
and from the Capture/Input popup select Apogee Duet - Audio Only
Now switch to the Clip Settings tab and uncheck the Video checkbox (leave Audio checked).
If everything is working you should see the levels jumping in the Clip Settings audio meter when you speak into the Duet attached Mic.
If so, click Capture Now and away you go. In future you should just be able to easily access the Apogee Duet - Audio Only capture preset as and when needed.
Maybe that will work for you.
Hope it helps

May 18, 2011 12:26 AM in response to Andy Meesby alexchoi,Thanks a lot Andy.
Mic into Input 1 is not works. I donn't know why.
Anyway, I tried your suggestion. In the Log and Capture window I see the signal and can recording voice, but can't see signal and recoding in the VoiceOver Tool window.
Before(some months ago, may be before update FCP) it worked very well.
Now, I can verify the signal, and It works well in Quicktime.
Also in Log and Capture, But dont function just in Voice Over Tool. It's strange.
Again thanks a lot for your very kind advice.

All sound app's is working, but Voiceover tool in FCP.
Also uninstall/reinstall sound card drivers.

Mar 17, 2016 10:29 AM in response to alexchoiby spuDaisy,I have this problem too. I found that my VOT did not work when my FCP library was stored on an external hard drive. If I had the library on the main hard drive VOT worked great.
