Which connector does the Speak-system have? 1x 3,5mm Audio? Or multiple 3.5mm for "Surround Sound"?

Yeah you should be able if they have a 3.5mm socket I had some good logitech, plugged them into the first hole from the right..think its the headphone socket lOL but they work great....no surround sound option though..bummer.

Any luck? I have Yamaha speakers with sub that connect via USB and or 3.5 mm jack. Currently my iMac won't pick them up via USB? Let me know if you have any suggestions.

If your presumably "amplified" Yamaha speakers have a USB connection, then it should work fine with your iMac by connecting the USB connection and THEN going into your Mac's Applications folder>System Preferences>Sound>select the "Output" tab and select the Yamaha speakers shown in the list below. That should do it.
