Same GB version, same OS version, and unfortuantely, same exact problem! I even recorded something on GB as recently as 5 days ago and now GB is able to open exactly zero of my projects... Something's gotta give here Apple!

Try sliding the file itself onto the GB application icon if you haven't already. Sometimes that force opens a file.
Also, is it possible you might have opened them in Logic and then were no longer able to open them in GB?

I have the same problem. I've never opened them in logic and have worked on them as recently as 5 minutes ago. What a pain!!!! Thanks for the suggestion on dragging it, but that didn't help either.

I am now having this problem, and nothing I do seems to help. I have repaired the disk permissions, and that hasn't changed anything - I've also tried to delete the preferences, but they aren't there! I have no clue as to what has happened, and I've lost a LOT of work.
Please can someone help?

Is you Mac OS version 10.7. or later? Then your User Library is hidden. You open it from the Finder's "Go" menu from the main menu bar:
Click "Go" and hold down the options/alt key, until the Library appears in the drop down menu, select Library. Then proceed as described above to remove the file "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband.plist" from the Preferences folder in your User Library.
