Your camera is on the list of supported cameras.

You right that the DL5 has RAW support in Aperture 3.1.2 .However;I should have posted the question as follows:Not all of my RAW files are accepted by AP3. The dread full Black triangle appears with the following warning ;Unsupported Image Format! Almost all other RAW files are OK .Might you have the answer to this problem? My Thanks: John Basso.

I'm assuming you've done all your Software Updates so you're running Digital Camera RAW 3.7.
If so, you may want to run through the Troubleshooting Basics found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805

I can tell you that it does process them from Panasonic LX5's - I have one. The files are probably very similar with slightly different processing metadata and a different tag. It is possible to change the tag in the RAW file prior to import that "fools" aperture into thinking that the RAW is the same as a camera that is supported. I have done this with other cameras where the RAW files were really the same but the camera was not yet "officially supported" at the time I bought it.
I kinda remember doing it to the EP-2 or was it the EPL-1? Don't remember but there are plenty of tools that will allow this - google is your friend.
Just make sure that your install of Ap3/OS X DOES actually have support for the LX5... Might work but I have not tried it.

The DL5 is supported so you shouldn't need to mess with any metadata tags. Perhaps the there is an option in the camera for compressing RAW files that Aperture cannot handle ?

Like John, I have the Leica D-Lux 5 and the latest version of AP3. I find that only some of the imports are badged with "unsupported image format" while others are fine.
I did a lot of data filtering on several hundred photos and can see that if the RAW photo was taken with an Exposure Program of Portrait Mode OR Landscape Mode AND with Aspect Ratio 3:2 AND Focal Length of 19.2mm then it doesn't process in AP3. I wonder if this is the same for you?
If it is then perhaps we have inadvertently discovered an incompatibility mode in AP3 which could be easily fixed by Apple in a future release...

I'm shocked that D-Lux 5 raw files aren't fully supported by Aperture 3, as the camera has been out for quite some time now. I will be taking delivery of an Olympus EP-3 today, so I am sure I will have to do some workarounds to get the raw images processed. Time to Google, I guess.

I have waited a while to let you know what is happening with my RAW files from my Leica D-Lux 5.
No longer does the black Triangle appear! So far everything is running smoothly and I must say this happened after the last update. Also I have a bit more experience with the camera and Aperture.
So all is well and many greetings and thanks to all of you.John Basso.
