Last night, I inadvertently updated an app on my iphone that I did not wish to update. If I have the older version of the app stored in my itunes library can I restore the older version of the app on my iphone and if that is possible how would I restore the app to my phone? I have already tried deleting the app off my phone and syncing the phone to itunes.. but when I sync my phone it no longer adds the app to my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    You have to:

Delete the app from the phone

Delete the ne version from the iTunes Library

Copy the old version from backup into the iTunes Library

Sync the app back to the phone

First thing I would to just to be safe is in iTunes right click the app in question and choose Show in Windows Explorer to have it take you to where that file actually is on your computer.  I would then make a copy of it elsewhere just to have handy in case it gets replaced by accident.

Next, by deleting from phone and syncing it told iTunes you don't want to sync the app to your phone.  So since it is off the phone but in your iTunes library, you first need to go to your Applications tab for your sync options and tell it to sync that app again.

    Then sync.

You did it correctly the first time, you just missed one little step:  In iTunes, before you sync, you have to checkmark the little box next to the app that you want to re-install on your phone.

In iTunes, on the left side of the screen, under DEVICES, click the name of your iPhone.  Now from the selections across the top of the screen, click APPS.  This will bring up a list of all the apps you have, with checkmarks next to the ones that will be synced to the phone.  Make sure the box is checked next to the app you're concerned about and click the "sync" button on the lower right corner of the screen.
