Currently Being ModeratedApr 14, 2011 12:54 PM (in response to Kirk McElhearn)Turning off CRL worked. Since I had contacted Apple Support and had a case number, I called them to follow up and they told me that turning off both certificates should not be a security problem. Their default in the support group is to have both turned off. Thought you would like to know.iMac Intel 21.5", Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Yep same here... after all this time & all the security updates & all the previous suggestions, I still can't get the App Store to work properly. The same goes for iTunes store where it crashes everytime I go into it... I suppose the 2 are linked... any suggestions on fixing this would be greatly appreciated :-)

Thanks for the reply.
Also tried a lot a things here, deleted Mac App Store completely including cashes, .plist, cookies to a point that there were no trace of it in my computer. Re-installed 10.6.7
Talk to Apple (a lot of robots) without going anywhere.
There will be Leo, a new OS coming out soon. Let see if it will solve the problem because according to many Mac forums, Apple will be changing a lot things regarding App store and the way we do updates and upgrades.

Finally got it to work !!!!!
Spotlight was my problem.
I disabled Spotlight a while ago using Spotless.
I turned it back on to-day and gone my problem not being able to download from Mac App Store.
I just don't know how Spotlight is related to Mac App Store but one thing I know, is't working for me now.
So for those like me who tried every single suggestions on this forums regarding a Mac App Store problem, take a look towards Spotlight.

Nice one JazzHot !!
I too did the same as you & disabled Spotlight with Spotless sometime ago as I found it's incessant disk churning annoying, and so I read your tip & just switched on Spotlight again using Spotless & the AppStore worked... it even let me login & click the UPDATE button to see what was new, whereas before it wouldn't even show me a login screen & would just hang & show the dreaded beachball !
At first I thought this was a fluke, so I rebooted (with Spotlight still re-enabled) & tried the AppStore again, and it still worked & I was able to download 2 Free Apps too !!
And for the doubters, no I didn't have iTunes running at the same time, and no I hadn't run iTunes before & logged into the iTunes Store either before trying this, and also I have OCSP & CRL both turned OFF in my KeyChain Access - Certificates section, as per previous comments.
Why on earth does AppStore need Spotlight to be enabled ? Does the AppStore need to see the scanned contents of your machine (thanks to Spotlight scanning your machine) before it lets you install something ? Surely the AppStore doesn't need to know what's on your machine to install something & isn't that an invasion of privacy ? Can someone please answer this as to why AppStore needs Spotlight switched on ???!!!
Either way a big thanks to you JazzHot for finding this fix & helping me out & hopefully others too... buy yourself a beer

I love you Jazzhot!
After 4 months of looking for a solution, the AppStore for Mac is no longer hanging!
I can't believe it was because Spotlight was disabled.
Thanks so much JazzHot!!!
