    I've been happy with a Samsung CLX-3175FW.

    The new model is CLX-3185FW.

It is quite affordable, not too big, and has decent quality.

Printing and scanning work over wifi (It may fax too)

It is not the fastest for printing in color, but more than enough for me,  the output looks very professional (as it is a laser printer), and the toner cartridges are not too expensive.

Samsung's service not being Apple's (at least in France, it is really terrible, as other CE companies), be sure to buy a 3-year assistance for this printer though.

    Hope this helps,

    Enjoy your new Mac!

One more thing : do not install the provided samsung software (or any other brand you buy).

This is a general recommendation when you buy peripherals for your Mac.

Provided software is usually more difficult to use than Apple-provided software and not always up to date.

So do not install it unless you have to (the peripheral not working without it)

Just add the printer in system preferences and it should work (the scan option might take a bit to appear)

I just bought a clx3185 (not FW) in france and i still have some days to change it.

I cant share the scanner through my wifi network. I tried with the airport express

and through my main computer. Nothing worked.

Also i couldnt find 3185 drivers on my mac only 3170 or 75 (cant remember)

Were you able to share printer and scanner with the FW model ?? what driver did you used ?

    Hi Emmanuel.

As far as I know, the CLX-3185 is not wifi nor network enabled.

The CLX-3185FW has ethernet and WifI.

That would explain why you cannot share the scanner over your network (Airport Express can share printers, but not scanners AFAIK).

There is a FN model with Ethernet but no WiFi, which you can attached to your network via Ethernet, a bit cheaper than the FW.

Drivers for the 3185s are not included with Mac OS X 10.6.7.

But they are on the CD provides with the printer, and on the Samsung website.

I bought a CLX-3185FW, installed the MAC drivers, and it workds perfectly well for printing and scanning over WiFi.
