The only way to do it (that I've found so far) is to remove all the music put only audiobooks in. You may need to do this manually (ie click the Manually manage music checkbox for the iPoD when you've plugged it into iTunes).

This is for fourth generation Shuffle.
A better answer. Transfer your music and your audiobooks to the Shuffle in the normal way - iTunes will create 'folders' for music, books and any playlists you've transferred on the Shuffle. Make sure the voice over is enabled. Once the Shuffle is disconnected you need to a. set the on/off button to the middle setting (ie no shuffle). b. press and hold the silver button and it will announce in sequence "All songs" followed by the playlists and the individual audiobook titles. c. Without letting go of the silver button, press the play button when you get to the one you want.
Works for us - hopefully works for you.

RichardJF, have you had any success listening to audiobooks downloaded from your library on your 4th gen shuffle? I am trying ot use mine to listen to books downloaded through OneClickdigital and I'm having trouble getting them to play when the iPod is not connected to the computer. Any thoughts?
