Depends on your needs, and what price is "reasonable" to you. How many mic pre-amps do you anticipate needing? Will you be connecting any line level sources, or only mics? How many channels do you want/need?
FYI, you can't record MIDI into STP.

Mostly for recording live music. Currently a line from the desk + up to 6 mics. Using a Behringer eurorack input mix but this all goes to one track, I would like to assign interments and inputs to separate tracks for balancing without spending a gazillion on Protools peripheries etc.

Sounds like you need at least 6 mic pres, and I usually recommend firewire interfaces, since generally the data stream is more reliable than USB 2. The cheapest firewire interfaces with at least 6 mic pres are:
All of them cost $500. All of them get great reviews. Check 'em out and see what other features look good and other reviews. I still use my old MOTU 896 HD, so I can't personally recommend anything.
