It's not me that puts 'in response to....' on email notifications - if I reply to your post as against someone else's it's the board that sticks that on.

Now can we have peace in our time, or is that too much to ask?

I suspect that he's already knows.  It's just that there are many forum posters that are unaware.

You're new to forums, aren't you?

it makes me laugh when the apple fan boys use the same html5 carrot dangled in front of them by apple as an excuse for no flash support on the ipad. when or where the carrot will be in their grasp no one knows! fact is this will be the same fanboys if apple do approve flash on their devices who will be hailing it as the best thing ever. html5 is nowhere near flash is right now and it will take years for it to reach those levels. RIGHT now we need flash as it improves and delivers a truer, richer web experience. i own a 64gig wifi+3g ipad 2 and it needs flash! i work on the road alot and i cant go to megavideo sites to watch movies etc even skyfire cant handle it! my ipad 2 looks awesome but as an everyday tool when on road working it doesnt cut it as the lack of flash support looms large. i love the fact the its value wont diminish after 6 months like my motorola xoom but that is not enough! i paid near £700 for this device and i should be able to use as i wish despite what steve jobs says period. his decision not to allow flash support when me and so many others want it is quite literally incorrect!

in recents video tests of html5 does anyone actually know how well the iphone/ipad browser did? 0 frames per second! have a look at video evidence all over youtube!

These forums perhaps but I'm a veteran poster on many others.   I've only had my iPad2 a week and original one a few months prior to that.

However you must forgive someone who is probably old enough to be your grandfather for becoming somewhat confused by your tendency to multi-post rather than use the edit button.

I actually agree with the OP & I wish Apple would allow Flash on iPads but it will never happen.   Almighty Jobs has decreed that so we are stuck with what we've got.

Then please understand the significance of responding to a specific poster and using the word "you."

That would put you at a minimum of somewhere around ninety years old.  I don't believe you.

......so it's not a.memory hog with other Mobile devices like Windows mobile or Android?

Personally, the fact I reckon Adobe can do it.  the fact that adobe told apple 'no' was just to make them happy, and it would be too much effort for adobe to do. It's not that they could't I reckon, it's just because adobe would like to not bother with it as its too complicated for

This is what comes from a device being sandboxes,  it it wasn't, I believe it would be a very different story.

It's not needed huh?  Have you tried using iPad for anythiing other than playing games? many, many web sites, especially weather sites that require Flash or Java. without it you look at a blank screen and are forced to use lesser web sites.

DON'T TELL ME IT'S NOT NEEDED!

I have at least 2 weather apps and no they don't need Flash or Java. And every major weather site (Weather Channel, etc) has an app. I've been using them to check the weather just to count the days we are roasting and look at empty radar maps with no rain. So if weather is your thing not having Flash really isn't an issue. You can go to http://www.appshopper.com and do a search for weather apps.

If you don't like having apps on your tablet and only want to access weather sites through the web (PS: the apps add functionality web access does not have) there are a number of tablets on the market that do have Flash, I would try the new Galaxy S and the Xoom if I were you. I think they will meet your needs and both of them also have Java which iOS device will never have.

i agree... i have had my ipad2 for 4 months and would say i have only been inconvenienced a few times with websites that needed flash... i got over it and moved on... i bought my ipad to complement my desktop computer... i aslo bought my ipad to use for the countless hours i spend at the hospital, and it has not disappointed me....

if you want to be able to use flash, get a different tablet.... if you absolutely want an ipad, you have two choices, 1) live with the fact you're not going to be able to use flash. or 2) get something else that does use flash....

i can understand the frustration those that want to use flash and those that are disappointed that the ipad doesn't support flash. but it has been an issue since the 1st ipod touch came out over 4 years ago that the ios platform doesn't support flash. if those that bought the ipad didn't do their homework prior to plugging down some serious money, then they only have themselves to blame, not apple or steve jobs.

Note that many of the more professional weather data sites also have apps; IMHO weatherTAP Zoom is one of the better ones and it's free.

Here in the UK we have that very attractive air-head organisation called the Met office: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/releases/archive/2010/forecasts-on-iphone

Oh gosh - I just spotted the "".gov.uk". Does that mean they're approved or something?
