Mar 3, 2011 9:23 AM in response to mohsmanby mjz12956,Having the exact issue. Periodically the screen goes blank for a second or two and then returns back to normal. Any idea what causes this?? Happened several time this morning, but not all of yesterday. -
Mar 5, 2011 11:31 AM in response to mohsmanby cdvanars,I'm having the same issue. I just installed a Radeon 5870 card hooked to two 27" LED displays and I've found that the display that has the most video activity (say watching a movie, or playing a game) will flicker on and off, show lines, and then hang up the entire computer at random. This same thing happens when booted into Windows also, which makes me think it is the card.
Any ideas? -
May 20, 2011 10:02 AM in response to cdvanarsby nfeddema,Having the same problem with a brand new mac and the thunderbolt port. Apple seems to be ignoring this and hoping it will go away -_-

Jul 6, 2011 7:50 PM in response to mohsmanby mshoe,Same problem here. Brand new 2011 MacBookPro 17" and the 27" Cinema Display with the display port. The display goes black for about .5 secs, then comes back on. It is sporadic but happens multiple (30) times per hour.
The display worked fine with my old MBP 2010 with display port, so obviously this is a Thunderbolt issue.
Firmware update please?!
