Jul 13, 2011 3:50 AM in response to Rebecca Fineganby mishmumken,iDVD cannot read the widescreen flag set by FCP. One way to make iDVD recognize the video correctly is to use Anamorphiciser.
On the other hand, DVDs created in iDVD are automatically set to display as "auto letterbox & pan/scan" which means that, depending on your DVD player's settings, the DVD might not display correctly. You might want give DVDSP a try (it's part of Final Cut Studio, so I'm guessing you have it) or look at myDVDedit.

Jul 13, 2011 10:57 AM in response to mishmumkenby Rebecca Finegan,Wouth Anamorphiciser be the easiest way without learning another software? I do have the latest version of FCP so would have DVDSP, but unfamiliar with it. I just need easy right now to get through my video. I won't be home to try it until later, but thought you might be able to tell me which route is the quickest. Thank you

Jul 13, 2011 4:49 PM in response to Klaus1by Rebecca Finegan,I pulled up the QT file and it is exporting from FCP as a wide screen. It also exports into iDVD as wide screen. It's just not burning to a DVD wide screen.
