I have two domains with a hosting provider and both use POP3 for email.  Both worked as configured in 10.6 Mail (Send and Receive).

In 10.7 Mail, one of the accounts says:  The server returned the error: The POP server “” doesn’t support Password authentication. Verify your account settings and try again.  But the other account works fine in 10.7 Mail.

It does support (requires) Password authentication and did work in 10.6.

I'll followup with the ISP too, but my first plan is to delete that account in Mail 10.7, but I don't want to loose email messages that no longer reside on the server.

What is the best way to archive those messages locally on my internal HDD, so I can delete the account and re-enter the settings.  Taking it offline and adding a new account won't work  because Mail says it's already in use.

MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Mac OS X (10.6.6), Final Cut Studio 3, Aperture 3, Verizon iPhone4
