this works well and it is not a difficult hack. Its all copy paste it took less then 10 Min to make this change. Still wundering that Apple is shipping this lether style....

I kinda like the leather look. It is growing on me.

Pity you can't get rid of the lame torn paper look and the trite, amateurish animation.
Looks like it's not an Apple design. Certainly couldn't have been approved by Jonny Ives!

Great tip. Very easy to change that ugly leather into something that seems more "Apple-like".

I've been a Mac user for over 20 years. It's all I've ever known. I love its products and its aesthetic.
But should I have to hack iCal and Address Book to get rid of the cheesy new representational design? I use these apps a lot, and do I really need dopey fake leather with torn paper edges on my calendar?...and having to turn the stupid fake page between group view and contact view in Address Book is a pain. I liked seeing all three panes at the same time.
Seriously, if I wanted the "feel" of using leather-bound organizers, I'd go back to using leather-bound organizers. Get back to sleek, clean and sophisticated, Apple. It's what you used to do best, and this is truly a step backward.
