This thread has gotten very confused as people jumped in and "threadjacked" with problems different than yours. (note to other posters...please post questions as new threads).
The Bluetooth preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) is located in Macintosh HD>library>preferences. Delete it and then restart. Also, try resetting the SMC one more time.
If none of that works, take it in for service (to an Apple store or to an Apple-certified technician) for diagnosis. If you ran it, the AHT would probably not detect a Bluetooth module problem - and it certainly would not allow you to fix it if it did discover a problem.

You have not discovered a bug. Having the box you indicated checking solved your problem SHOULD be checked. That is the only way the Bluetooth module allows the computer to be "awakened" by a BT device. What you describe as a "bug" is the way OS X is designed.

I'm so sorry for this confusing thread. My difficulties with English may have caused many confusions. Sorry MrKiss, but our problem is very different. Surely I didn't write clearly my situation, I should titled this thread as: "Bluetooth module is missing, when I installed OS X Lion".
To avoid any future confusion with this thread, I'll try to summarize my problem:
- I have a MacBook Pro (Model 2009) which was bought in July 2009.
- In Snow Leopard: Bluetooth worked perfectly.
- Since 2 days ago when I installed OS X Lion, Bluetooth module doesn't appear in the Preferences Panel.
In Hardware Information inside "About my Mac", in the section Bluetooth, there is sentence like: "not available".
- In my Macbook, the file com.apple.Bluetooth.plist doesn't appear in Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences.
- USB devices works fine.
- I did SMC.
- I tried to do PRAM, but when I booted up my Macbook, and I holded down the keys 'Cmd + Alt + P + R',
nothing happened, and the system booted up normally. Therefore I couldn't do PRAM.
- Finally, I tried with AHT (Apple Hardware Test). Yesterday I inserted my DVD#2 "Applications" which was into Macbook's box and I holded down during boot, the key 'D', and... nothing. I holded down with another combination 'Fn + F2', and the result
was the same: AHT didn't run.
- As rightly said Barry, I think the solution is: Apple-certified technician, because I tried many procedures without result.
Thank you very much for all replies, especially Barry for your patience ;), and I'm sorry for any confusion that may have caused with my difficulties with English Grammar, in this thread.

Hi again - and hopefully the technician will find the problem.
As I indicated above, there is nothing wrong with your English - it is a LOT better than my Spanish or German which would be appropriate for a two year old!

I agree, the original poster needs to go to Apple and have his hardware checkedin. Resetting the SMC and PRAM and nonsense like that rarely do anything to help and in his case they certainly won't do anything if the Bluetooth module is not showing up as a USB device at all.
With regard to the other issue: yes, it IS A BUG. And my suggestion to turn ON that checkbox fixes it for many people on these threads, including this one, as well as this one:

The "Allow Devices to wake this computer" checkbox allows or prevents your devices from waking your computer from sleep and is defaulted to ON. But many people disable it because they don't want their MBPs waking while asleep due to accidental mouse clicks or keypresses. In Lion the checkbox works like it should while asleep, but upon wake there is a bug where the devices do not get properly reconnected like it normally should. This is a BUG, and is a pretty bad one since it renders your Bluetooth unusuable until you turn Bluetooth off and then on again from the menu extra or System Preferences. Note that it doesn't happen all the time or to all people, but universally checking that checkbox fixes this issue for those that it does occur to.

But one thing to make it clear is there is a problem that might be a bug in OSX Lion with bluetooth mouse recognition.
Barry, you misunderstood gtmagnet and my conversation. My problem was My Mac Book doesn't recognize magic mouse after wake up.
Checking the "Allow devices to wake this computer" checkbox in the Advanced panel of the Bluetooth prefs only makes my Mac Book recognize after wake up, not waking up sleeping Mac Book.
Is it normal? I and gtmanet think it's bug

Tried various tips, i.e. removing files from library/preferences (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) - no use. Also tried resetting PRAM - no use. What did the trick for me was resetting SMC (System Management Controller) by removing battery, holding down On/Off button for 5 seconds and then reassembling.
Hope it's of any use to y'all, losing bluetooth was frustrating. Glad SMC solved it.

after i wake up my mbp from sleep the bluetooth was gone,
there is an icon in top bar os x that said "Bluetooth: not available"
and i checked in the system information, also i cant find bluetooth information,
for the first time i think this is os x lion bug or somthin,
so i restart my mbp and boot to bootcamp win7,
and also i cant find any bluetooth information there,
there is one unrecognized device in Device Manager win7,
and i think that is my bluetooth,
anyone can share your experience about this ?
im too lazy to go to apple centre

I had a similar issue with bluetooth. I had my logic board replaced a while ago and never noticed my Bluetooth didn't work. I went to ifixit.com and got instructions to change the logic board and noticed that the Bluetooth connection was disconnected in the process. When the tech put it back together the connection wasn't properly secured.
I fixed it myself and it was easy. Clear concise instructions to lift the upper cover and a quick snap down.
