Q: Can't sign into iTunes Store - endless loop. Help!!

I am running iTunes 10.4 under OS X 10.7. All of a sudden I can't sign into my iTunes Store account. I am entering the correct password, but it just keeps asking me for my Apple ID and password over and over again. I enter that information, and it keeps asking me again and again. This only just started happening - that was well after I upgraded to Lion, so I know that's not the reason.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do about it? How can I fix this?

This is happening to me as well on a Mac Book Pro 17 i5 (10.7 and iTunes 10.4)

Endless loop of requests for Password when selecting Account Info or Purchased link. Says I am logged in when I go into the store WRT Mail address in top corner.

Logging in fine on iPad, iPhone and 10.7 iMac 27 i7

It's still doing the loop thing. What is going on here?

What's weird is that I can sign in to my account with the App Store, just not iTunes...

I can sign in and view the store on my Iphone4 but not on iTunes 10.4.... They must be having major problems right now..

    UPDATE - 5:48PM EST

"I just called Apple and they said that they having connection problems since they updated there servers for itunes 10.4... They also said it should be fixed in a few hours.."  But more then likely it will be tomorrow..

    Yes it is the 24th.

I tried again Babaganoosh upon reading your reply today. I also received the same response.

HOWEVER, upon quitting iTunes and re-launching, I am now able to go into Account and Purhased with no issue,

The repeating loop is now fied for both of my 10.4 Lion machines.

    Hope this helps.

I also tried quitting and relaunching iTunes. Did it just now, in fact.

    It didn't work.

    Dear Babaganoosh

I have almost the same problem, I loaded a value of CHF 30 into my personal account. I am able to buy music via my iPhone 4, using the iTunes app. On the same time, while trying to do the samie on my computer, it doesn't work. but in my iTunes account the value of each song was deducted as it should be. Still not able to enter the iTunes store. Will try tomorrow again (MET 20.30)

I just got a reply from Apple. They implied that I was entering my password incorrectly!

I can't get into iTunes either.  They are having MAJOR problems and either won't admit it or don't know what is going on!!  I can get there from my iPod, but not from my computer.

I am having the same problems!! I have been working on this endless loop issue since Friday afternoon. I'm getting the need to verify your email notice, yet it shows verified and I can log in to apple, just not iTunes.

As frustrating as this situation is, I'm glad to read I'm not alone in this craziness!

I've had 4 email responses from appleitunes support and none have worked   In fact!id already completed their suggested steps of uninstalling and other minor suggestions.

I'm considering just starting a new apple I'd. I've backed up all iTunes files. So my question to the forum is this:

If I create a new appleid, is there a way to add in previous iTunes music and apps to the new appleid?  Will it let me import the backups I made on cd? Will it recognize them as my purchases?

Very frustrated!!!  All this started because I purchased an iPad2 and wanted to change user name on account. Now 4 Days later, cant buy any apps!

    Thanks!

Oh well, now you know, stick with your original ID -- definitely sounds like something you did

I was having this same problem today however I've fixed it by signing out of the iTunes Store and then restarting iTunes. Was able to log back in no problem and access my account.
