Q: Logic Pro 8 is not supported under Lion?
Is there a reason why Logic Pro 8 is NOT supported by Lion. I have been holding off buying Logic 9 for the next Logic release and now I am a little dead in the water. Is my only real option to go back to Snow Leopard? I still don't understand how Logic 8 and Intel native app could fall over.

I think Apple is in the position to give or deny support of its older products. I think I've seen a page where they tell that Logic is supported on Lion from version 9.x and above. This means that if you want to be sure to continue to use Logic 8 you should stay with Snow Leopard (you can also virtualize it inside Lion now). Or you can try the *unsupported* workaround mentioned in this thread...but no one knows if it will work forever or not.
I seriously doubt Apple will put a patch just to deny Logic 8 users use the "Show Package Contents..." trick. If at a certain point the workaround won't work will be just because Lion would seriously crash while using Logic 8.
Remember that an application has to be developed with Lion's features and architecture in mind (64-bit, suspend and resume, etc) to be proficient under this new O.S., I doubt when Logic 8 was written it was done with Lion beside. To sum up, if you want to continue to use Logic you have FOUR choices:
1 - stay with 8 and and Snow Leopard
2 - use 8 with the trick for Lion and pray that will work and stay stable for a long time
3 - virtualize Snow Leopard under Lion and install Logic 8 inside the virtual machine (still haven't tried this, anyone?)
4 - wanna use it under Lion and not have any problems, upgrade Logic to version 9 (or wait for Logic X, that's what I am doing, when steps 2 and 3 won't work well anymore)
