Q: Alphanumeric keyboard

Does anyone know if Apple have any plans to incorporate an Alphanumeric keyboard for use in text messaging, a la HTC where you at least have the option of Qwerty or Alphanumeric.

I would gladly even pay for this option to be available to me.

I find it REALLY silly to have the choice of well over a dozen different language keyboards but not the choice of an Alpha numeric one.

I have tried and buyed other ones on the AppStore but all run as a separate app and not as a choice of keyboard.
