Just installed 10.7 on my MBA and noticed that unlike all the documentation and reviews, I do not have Air drop in my sidebar. How do I turn this feature on?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is wifi turned on? As it needs wifi on. It should show up automatically. In finder prefs is Airdrop ticked to show up?

You didn't mention which generation your MBA is.  AirDrop will only appear if running Lion on hardware that supports Airdrop.  From http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html:

    AirDrop

    supports the following Mac models:

    • MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)
    • MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    • MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)
    • iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
    • Mac mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
    • Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
