Well... heck, I'm looking at the crash report and it's filled with prokit/appkit references... these are related to the menus, fonts and other parts of the interface.
The fact that you reverted back to 10.6.6 and still had the problem points to Logic 9.1.4 as the culprit, is that possible? When did you do the 9.1.4 upgrade.
I guess as a last resort you could download the massive 10.6.8 Combo updater and see if it overwrites some older files left installed. I don't hold out much hope...
Are you using 3rd party plugins? Not using NI's MAssive are you?

I will try the combo update when i get home tonight. Is it possible to go from Logic 9.1.4 back to 9.1 and see if that works? how would i go about that?
I am using 3rd party plugs such as Waves, Battery, SPL. I had a look in audio manager in logic at all my AU's but theres no so many to deselect especially in the Waves bundle to begin trial and error'ing is there a quicker way to do it via company instead of individual plugin.. i.e deselecting "Waves" entirely, instead of each plugin inside Waves ?this will speed up the process alot.
Also is there an older appkit update i could look at or something? i dont mind trying older updates and overwriting newer ones if it might be that. Just want Logic working again.
Thanks for the help up to press.

I am having the exact same issie - upgraded from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 and migrated the data across.
Now using Logic 9.1.4 (32bit).
Tried permissions, disable bootcamp spotlight indexing - not sure what else to try.
Bit of a problem as I cannot use Logic- did you get anywhere with the combined download?

Ive tried reinstalling 10.6.0 and doing the 10.6.7 combo update, didnt work and also the same process for 10.6.4.. still same. i tried updating to logic 9.1.3 from 9.1.4 but as suspected it wouldnt as i had a newer version.. Some people have reinstalled logic and that didnt work either, so basically theres not a solution at all????!!! this is crazy!?

I have installed logic 9.1.5 from the apple site and run that, still same problem.. so i have finally managed to get my hands on the logic 9 disc.. it says on the apple site to remove logic 9 from your mac, to simply drag the logic app to trash and reinstall. i did this with 10.6.0 installed and run it and still error. I then combo updated to .4 .6 and to .7 without updating logic still error.. Then i have combo updated to 10.6.8 still error.. finally i installed the 9.1.5 update direct from the site on 10.6.8 and that hasnt worked either..
My question is, even though on the apple site it says to drop the app to the bin and reinstall, does this remove all necessary files? or do i have to do it manually and if so can someone tell me exactly what needs to go,before i try a proper reinstall.

Two of Logic preference files are located:
Should probably delete that, you will lose some custom settings.

Tried that mate,
Weird, it brought my old project up, when before i had it set to "new template" on startup.. but still just blinking at me.. i thought having the logic discs might of been a bonus but obviously not!
